travel from afar
Fernandina Beach is the town on Amelia Island. The Island is only two miles wide and 14 miles long. We are the first island in Florida coming from Georgia and the last coming from the south. Fernandina is a quaint little southern gem with lots of history, lots of charm, and an Iyengar Yoga school.
HOTELS
Some hotels or Bed and Breakfasts on Amelia Island offer special rates for our visiting students. There are many options for staying on the island, but here are a few recommendations.
Amelia Schoolhouse Inn
If you stay at the Amelia Schoolhouse Inn, mention Community Yoga + Wellness and you will get a discount on off season rates Sunday to Thursday.
Hampton Inn Fernandina Beach
If you stay at the Hampton Inn, ask for a AAA discount 10% ($165 per double for August). If you mention Community Yoga it might make the process a little smoother. Located just a block away from Main Beach on Atlantic Avenue, and only a short distance from Fort Clinch State Park.
Airbnb
There are many guest rooms and condos listed on the Airbnb site to consider. I would suggest this route if you are travelling as a group or would like to rent a room or something a little more private than a hotel for your stay.
Hampton Inn Historic Harbor Front
If you stay at the Hampton Inn, ask for a AAA discount 10%. If you mention Community Yoga it might make the process a little smoother. Located in the heart of lovely historic downtown, mere minutes away from the waterfront.
FOOD
For omnivores there is no shortage of wonderful food options, including Timoti’s, Cafe Karibo, and The Patio Place. Many local restaurants also have vegetarian, vegan, or gluten-free options. Click here to check if a restaurant is veg-friendly.
